Campaigning to improve our town

Big projects that will bring new jobs and more prosperity to Folkestone will be a top priority for Lib Dem Councillors on Folkestone's new Town Council.

Since taking power last year, the Lib Dem District Council has made real progress in this area.

Work on Folkestone's town centre development, which had stalled under the previous Conservative Council, is set to start later this year. Additionally, plans have now been submitted for the new seafront development.

Lib Dem campaigner Ian Masters said, "Folkestone is crying out for more shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. We will work hard to make these vital developments happen."

Fast Rail Link

The Lib Dems are strong supporters of the proposed high speed rail services to London. A Lib Dem Town Council will work with the District Council to help secure this.

Folkestone campaigner and local Doctor Hugh Robertson-Ritchie said, "These big projects can really regenerate our town and will put Folkestone back on the map."
