Thank You Shepway!

The Liberal Democrats are thanking the voters of Shepway for their support in the local and European Election held on Thursday. With all the votes now counted locally and nationally, the Liberal Democrats have continued to make progress.
In the local elections, the Liberal Democrats took 4 seats on the new Folkestone Town Council, with Paul Marsh and Hugh Robertson Ritchie elected for Foord, Peter Gane elected for Cheriton and Janet Andrews in East.
Across Shepway, the Liberal Democrats beat Labour in the European Elections for the first time ever, pushing Labour into fourth place. Labour also failed to stand any candidates in the local elections across Folkestone.
Liberal Democrat agent Shaun Roberts said:
"We're really grateful for the support we've received across Folkestone and Shepway in these elections. I would also like to thank the hundreds of members of the Lib Dem team across the area who make our campaign possible in many ways - from delivering leaflets to stuffing envelopes, donating their times, skills and money.
"Our campaign would not be possible without their support. We are now looking forward to the General Election, and plan to be ready to beat Michael Howard whenever it is called."
