GP Crisis now official in Shepway

Official figures have confirmed that the level of GP provision in Shepway is amongst the lowest in the Country.
On average, English Primary Care Trusts (PCT) have 52 GPs per 100,000 patients, but Shepway has just 43. No other area outside London has fewer.
Shepway Lib Dem campaigner Peter Carroll said, "I just don't understand why the level of this vital service in Shepway is so low. Access to a GP is a pretty basic part of our Health Service. I will be writing to the Primary Care Trust to find out what steps are being taken to tackle this situation."
"Local people will feel very let down that this situation has been allowed to develop."
