Only the Lib Dems are fighting for a fair deal for students

Thousands of first-time voters and students across Shepway could help the Lib Dems to victory in the election.Young people in particular are angry about Labour's university fees, ID cards and Tony Blair's Iraq war.

Local campaigner Tim Prater said, "Latest opinion polls confirm that younger people are switching to back the Lib Dems - the only party to oppose war in Iraq, oppose ID cards and who will abolish tuition fees."

Under Michael Howard's Conservatives students and their families will pay even more than under Labour's fees plans.
