Standing up for you on the County Council

May 3, 2005 8:02 PM

Read what your local Lib Dem County Candidate wants to do for you.

Cllr Julie White (Romney Marsh)

If elected I will work hard to oppose airport expansion at Lydd. We need more Police on patrol and more activities for younger people - which would help cut anti-social behaviour. Most importantly, I want to keep our villages and beaches clean so that residents and visitors can enjoy the Marsh.

Shaun Roberts (Folkestone South)

Shaun Roberts is fighting to get a better deal for Folkestone from the County Council. Top priorities are improving local roads and getting more cash for local schools which have been underfunded for too long. Shaun is also backing Peter Carroll's campaign to save services at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Tim Prater (Folkestone West)

Living locally, I believe it is essential that Kent County Council invest in the services that actually matter to my neighbours. They must invest properly in education, fix our broken roads, get better facilities for local young people and secure better public transport for local people. That's worth working for!

Cllr Neil Matthews (Hythe)

Cleaning up litter and graffiti is my number one priority. I would fight to make sure that our area is kept in good condition. We also need more police and CCTV to make Hythe a safer place to live. I will work hard to get better value for our Council Tax money.

Emily Sanger (Folkestone North East)

Top priority for me is improving our local schools and nursery provision in our area. As our county councillor I will fight to get more resources into local education. I will also work to get more police and community wardens on patrol to make our area safer for local people.

Cllr Peter Smith (Elham Valley)

I will do my best to help the rural economy and work to improve village facilities in Hawkinge, Lyminge, Sellindge and other villages across Elham Valley. Local people deserve better quality roads and improved bus links. We also need more police and community wardens on patrol to tackle anti-social behaviour.
