'People First' Group Splits as Gane Quits

'People First' Councillor Peter Gane has left his Party in protest at their coalition with the Conservative Party. The Cheriton Councillor said on resigning the Party that he could not justify the recent decision of Linda Cufley and Brian Copping to rejoin the Shepway Council ruling cabinet.
Peter Gane said:
"This is not what the electorate voted for two years ago. I could not justify the move to myself, and if I can't do that, I definitely can't justify it to the people of Shepway"
