Disabled Parking Space Review Through Shepway

Kent County Council have published proposals to introduce a number of additional on-street parking facilities across Shepway, and to revoke a few existing spaces. The spaces are for disabled person's vehicles displaying a valid disabled persons badge.

Disabled spaces are to be introduced outside the following properties:

  • Folkestone: 18 Bridge Street, 24/45 Bridge Street, 14 Ernwell Road, 73 Linden Crescent, 3 Elmstead Place, 12 Earls Avenue, 65/67 Wood Avenue, 29 Wood avenue, 3 George Gurr Crescent, 73 Blackbull Road, 23 Stuart Road, 125 Dover Road, 87 Sidney Street.
  • Cheriton / Morehall: 85 Church Road, 32 Church Road, 237 Shorncliffe Road, 30 Somerset Road, 25 Chart Road, 6 Francis Road.
  • Hythe: 36 Frampton Road, 70 St Leonards Road.
  • Dymchurch: 15 Marshlands.
  • Newchurch: 3 Patchways.
  • New Romney: Opposite 3 Wiles Avenue.
  • Lyminge: 14 Station Road.

Disabled spaces are to be removed from outside the following properties:

  • Western side of road outside 4A Grove Terrace, Grove Road, Folkestone
  • 1 Trimworth Road, Morehall
  • 35 Surrenden Road, Morehall

Anyone wishing to support these proposals, or object to them, should write to the Highways Engineer, Shepway District Council, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone CT20 2QY or email david.marshall@shepway.gov.uk stating their reasons by no later than 23rd November.

Disabled Persons Parking bays can be provided on the public highway for disabled persons who have substantial difficulties in walking and parking within the vicinity of their property. Any person wishing to apply for a bay should be the holder of a current disabled persons badge, be in receipt of the higher rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance and shall be the driver of the vehicle needing space.
