Thumbs Up: Darren Briddock and Tom McNeice celebrate light repairs

After over six months and countless emails, phone calls and reports by the Morehall Lib Dem team and local residents, KCC have repaired the street lights at the busy Cheriton Road / Beachborough Road / Cherry Garden Avenue junction, in Morehall, Folkestone.

The lights were first reported as not working back in October, and the progress on repairs has been chased regularly ever since.Last Friday a letter from Geoff Harrison-Mee, Director of Kent Highway Services, promising the work on the lights was scheduled for Friday, 12 April.

After repairs either side of the weekend, the lights were working again early this week.

Morehall campaigner Darren Briddock was delighted. He said:

"About time! These lights are at a key junction, where there have been a number of accidents at night over the last few months. It really shouldn't have to take this long to get existing street lights fixed, but I'm really pleased they are now working."
