First Call for Kent County Council Candidates for May 2009

In May 2009, all Kent County Councillors will be up for re-election. Shepway Liberal Democrats are aiming to select prospective candidates for the six Shepway Kent county seats (Elham Valley, Folkestone North-East, Folkestone South, Folkestone West, Hythe and Romney Marsh) this Autumn.

To stand for a County Council seat, you will need to be a paid-up member of the Liberal Democrats, go through a candidate approval process, and then stand for selection by the local party membership for the seat of your choice.

More information and full details of the selection timetable will be released in the next few weeks, but any member considering standing for a County Council seat are encouraged to contact Maureen Speller secretary@shepwaylibdems.org.uk or phone 01303 252939 to express an interest and register for an application pack.
