What's Blue and Gold and Springing Up All Over?

Lib Dem majority Folkestone Town Council have funded a major repainting project for street litter bins across Folkestone. Over the last few days, over 50 bins across Folkestone will get a smart new blue and gold paint job.
Although the bins are owned by Shepway Council, Folkestone Town Council have stepped in to paint the bins after years of neglect.
Local campaigner Maureen Speller said "Its 'bin' ages since they were painted last, and they looked awful! The new paint job really helps - it certainly smartens the area up!".
The Deputy Mayor of Folkestone and Chair of Community Services Emily Sanger has led the project. Emily said:
"It's great to see the bins being painted: it makes the town look much smarter. We plan this to be the beginning of a bigger project though - there are plenty more bins left to do, and we haven't forgotten about them!
"Making Folkestone look brighter and cleaner is a big aim, but the Town Council are determined to make it happen. I hope we can see much more repainting and clearing up in the near future."
