Anti-Social Behaviour on the Leas Continues Unabated

December 16, 2007 2:07 AM

Girl drinking from an alcopop bottle.Local residents continue to live in fear of and feel disgust at the anti-social behaviour occurring on and around the Leas, according to Lib Dem Town Councillor Gary Fuller.

A number of local residents have contacted Gary to complain about the behaviour of individuals leaving local bars in the evening. A local resident described yobs "urinating in the water lift area and also against the walls of the Prior Lees".

Councillor Fuller, who lived near to the Prior Lees, and Longford Terrace, until recently said, "It can be scary hearing all the noise and disruption in the evening and there doesn't always seem to be a police presence to prevent the general noisiness and revelry from developing into more serious forms of anti-social behaviour".

Gary has written to Shaun Taylor at Shepway District Council to ascertain that all that is possible is being done to tackle this serious issue. He is hoping to meet with Shaun to discuss this, and other anti-social behaviour issues affecting Central Folkestone, early in the new year.
