'Setting the Agenda' manifesto conference

Lib Dem members from Shepway are being invited to a special one day conference on 12 September at the LSE in London which will feature the first key-note address of new Party leader Nick Clegg.
The Liberal Democrat Manifesto Group is organising the special one day conference to give party members an opportunity to contribute to the development of the party's next general election manifesto. It will involve leading figures in the party and invited guest speakers, and will be modelled on the successful 2006 'Meeting the Challenge' Conference.
The conference will include:
- an opening keynote speech by Nick Clegg - his first public speech as Leader of the Liberal Democrats;
- a major debate on the political challenges presented by the other parties, and the political opportunities for the Liberal Democrats;
- a question and answer panel on the best way to improve public services;
- and a series of breakout workshops run by party organisations and think-tanks.
