Send Them a Message: Back Season Prater for Sandgate Valley

April 9, 2008 9:13 AM

Sandgate resident Season Prater is calling on Sandgate residents to send a clear message to the Conservatives on Sandgate Council by supporting her in a Sandgate Valley by-election on May 1st. The council has been in the news recently for its highly controversial change from "Parish" to "Town" status and that Chairman Geoffrey Boot has moved from being Chairman to Mayor of Sandgate, with many local residents upset about the plans.

Lib Dem candidate Season said:

"Like many local residents, I was amazed when the Conservatives chose to turn Sandgate into a "Town" Council with a Mayor. I think it's a ridiculous idea.

"Amazingly, Sandgate has the highest Council Tax of any area in Shepway. Lib Dem-run Folkestone managed a ZERO rise in Council tax - for the 2nd year running!

We're just not getting a good deal for Sandgate. Its time to send the Conservatives running Sandgate a message - listen to local residents."

The official statement of persons nominated for the 1 May Sandgate Valley poll lists the three candidates:

  • John Collier (Conservative) Collridge House, 3 Blenheim Place, Off, Coolinge Lane, Folkestone, Kent CT20 3RJ
  • Jonathan James Seton Greenwall (Independent) 2 Hillside Court, 22, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone CT20 2QT
  • Season Prater (Liberal Democrats) 16 Riviera Court, Sandgate High St, Sandgate CT20 3RP
