Folkestone to Cliff End flood and erosion management strategy

May 23, 2008 1:33 AM

The Environment Agency has developed a draft strategy for managing the risk of flooding and erosion along the coast between Folkestone and Cliff End. Through a process of technical, economic and environmental assessment the draft strategy has identified proposed options for each section of the coast within the strategy area.

Consultation has already been undertaken with relevant local authorities, national government organisations and key interested parties.

You can download a copy of the consultation document, feedback form, the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and the Strategy Technical Report from the Environment Agency web site, using the link on the left. Alternatively copies of the consultation document and a reference copy of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and the Strategy Technical Report are available at public libraries in Rye, Lydd, New Romney, Hythe, Sandgate and Folkestone.

The public are invited to attend drop in sessions / exhibitions where members of staff will be available to answer questions and provide further information;

  • Thursday 5 June, 2 - 8pm, University Centre, Folkestone, Mill Bay, Folkestone
  • Saturday 21 June, 10am - 4pm, Lydd Library, Old School, Skinner Road, Lydd
  • Friday 4 July, 2 - 7pm, Camber Memorial Hall, Lydd Road, Camber
  • Monday 7 July, 2 - 8pm, Rye Community Learning Centre, Lion Street, Rye
