Cannabis factory found in Folkestone

July 15, 2008 12:00 AM

Almost 1,000 cannabis plants with a potential street value of tens of thousands of pounds have been discovered at an address in Morehall, Folkestone. A warrant was carried out by Kent Police at the house in St George's Road, Morehall on Thursday 3 July when the plants, which were at varying stages of growth, were found.

Police are investigating the discovery and asking anyone with information, particularly about people and vehicles coming and going from the property, to contact Folkestone Police Station.

If you are suspicious that a property is being used for a cannabis factory, there are some signs you should look out for:

  • curtains or blinds closed all the time
  • condensation on the windows
  • the sound of generators or fans
  • unusual smells
  • air vents appearing in walls
  • movements of people and vehicles

Kent Police would like to hear from anyone with any information on 01303 850055. Alternatively you can call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on freephone 0800 555 111. Your anonymity is guaranteed and you may be eligible for a reward.

If you live in Cheriton or Morehall and have any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour contact your neighbourhood PCSO Mark Ball on 07772 226055.
