Pavement marked for new drop-kerb near Folkestone Central bus station, as it has been for some time...

Folkestone Liberal Democrat campaigner Gary Fuller has written to Conservative County Councillor Roland Tolputt to demand action on pathway potholes. A recent survey pathway survey in central Folkestone conducted by Gary found potholes, paint stains and damaged road signs.

Gary also noted that a number of prospective drop curbs, which would improve access to the bus station from Bouverie Road West, have not been put in place. He wrote:

"I would like to request that, in you dual role of County Councillor for Folkestone South and member of the Highways Advisory Board, you look into this matter and press hard for improvements to pathways and signs in Folkestone."

Commenting, he said:

"Too many pathways in Folkestone are just not safe. It is not acceptable that those with mobility problems or young children should be made to suffer because of disrepair. It is vital that our county councillors fight our corner and work hard to improve our town."

Kent County Council (Kent Highways) maintain roads and footpaths in the Shepway area. Gary Fuller is a Lib Dem Folkestone Town Councillor for Harvey Central ward.
