"Has Christchurch Tower suffered more damage?": Fuller

New stone fallen from Folkestone's Christchurch Tower?
Lib Dem Folkestone Town Councillor Gary Fuller, whilst attending the recent VJ Day memorial service in Folkestone's Garden of Remembrance, spotted what he suspected could be another piece of rock that might have fallen from Christchurch Tower.
The sizeable chunk of rock, which Gary had not spotted during previous surveys of the area around the tower in Sandgate Road, was found sitting next to the bottom of it on August 15th.
Councillor for Folkestone Harvey Central ward Gary said:
"I have to wonder if this rock could have fallen from the Tower and whether or not the Tower has suffered more damage. If the rock has fallen from the Tower, then it could be a real concern for the towers structure itself and passing residents!
"I was disgusted that Conservatives on Shepway Council recently removed money put aside from its capital budget for repairs to Christchurch Tower. Repairs are needed to the outside of the building now, as previous surveys have confirmed, but the Tories seem content to let Folkestone's history fall down."
