Maurice Maisey: Hythe has lost a man devoted to doing to his best for the town

Neil Matthews has paid tribute to Maurice Maisey, a former army officer and Hythe Town Councillor, who passed away suddenly last weekend.
Neil Matthews, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Folkestone and Hythe and former Mayor of Hythe, said:
"Maurice devoted much of his time to running the Hythe Festival, making it the success it was.
"The festival takes place every two years and in order to keep most events free, Maurice spent much of his time securing the necessary sponsorship. His keen eye for detail was key to the festival's smooth running and during my time as Hythe's mayor, Maurice always found the time to keep me fully informed of all the events taking place during the 2006 festival.
"Hythe has lost a man devoted to doing to his best for the town and will be sorely missed."
