Valebrook Close footpath application submitted

Cheriton Councillor Tim Prater has submitted an "Application for Modification Order" to the Kent County Council Definitive Map and Statement to add the footpath, from the end of Valebrook Close to the Northern end of HR43, in Cheriton, Folkestone.

The path has existed for many years, and there is lots of evidence (including many local maps, property deeds, and indeed a "Public Footpath" sign of many years standing) showing this public right of way existed prior to 2006, and there is no sign of a deletion of right of way order. The owner of the land blocked the footpath at the end of last year and local residents have been pushing for its reopening ever since.

As a part of the application to Laura Wilkins, the Public Rights of Way Officer at Kent County Council, 13 user evidence forms from local residents were included, giving examples of the use of the path dating back many years.
