Shepway Council in relegation zone

Liberal Democrat group leader Lynne Beaumont, has slammed Shepway's ruling Conservatives for their shocking performance in a recent report by the Audit Commission.
The widely respected Audit Commission, found that Shepway Council was achieving the bare minimum for the people of Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh. This follows another recent report which puts Shepway at the bottom of the league of councils in terms of rate of improvement, 388th out of 388. In other words, last.
Lynne Beaumont said:
"Council tax goes up and up, and we find that the council achieves less and less. If the council was a football team, we'd be in the relegation zone. It's time to change the managers."
Lynne added:
"Even in core services like our waste collection, the inspectors found this to be expensive, and with the lowest levels of customer satisfaction across Kent.
"The Conservatives seem to be spinning this report as a good report. They are either in a parallel universe, or, in a league of their own."
