Norman Baker MP on the Strange Death of David Kelly
On 15th March 2008, Shepway Liberal Democrats were delighted to welcomed the Lib Dem MP for Lewes, Norman Baker, on Saturday to discuss his book "The Strange Death of David Kelly" which was published in October 2007.
Norman explained the facts underlying his book and its startling conclusions to an audience of Lib Dem members and supporters. You can watch the video of the first 30 minutes of his presentation here.
Folkestone West Station Shame
Morehall Campaigner Darren Briddock has increased the pressure on South Eastern Trains to redecorate the underpass at Folkestone West station by recording a video showing the state of the tunnel. Darren hopes the move will shame South Eastern Trains into a fast renovation of the tunnel.
In the video Darren shows the state of the tunnel, describing it as "wet, dark and mouldy".
The Next Train from East Kent: Save Ashford International
Ashford International's future has come under threat from new plans by Eurostar to make the new Ebbsfleet station the "hub" for the South East. The volume of services from Ashford to the continent has been slashed, and residents and staff now fear for the future of international services from Ashford - which would hurt residents and businesses from nearby areas such as Folkestone and Hythe who rely on the service.
Shepway Liberal Democrat campaigner Peter Carroll briefly outlines why he believes international services should continue from Ashford to serve residents and businesses across East Kent.
